GRADUATE ADMINISTRATOR, Economics, to coordinate all aspects of graduate academic administrative matters. Duties include oversight of the department’s admissions and student information databases, including financial aid and grades, placement, hiring, and alumni records; overseeing the department’s graduate admissions process including analysis of data; management of the placement process for graduating Ph.D. students; administrative oversight of the graduate student recruiting process and the junior faculty hiring process; coordinating financial aid/scholarships for graduate students; coordinating responses and gathering data for all surveys, reports, and other requests for information in the department; and generating reports as requested. Will also supervise one employee who assists with admissions, recruiting, hiring, and placement activities. Other duties include advising students and faculty on graduate student policies, procedures, and requirements; managing and overseeing the production of the graduate program brochure including statistical analyses; communicating with alumni/ae and donors; and handling special projects as needed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of five years’ experience in an educational or administrative position; discretion and excellent judgment; demonstrated organizational skills; excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal and written communication skills; and strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of database and spreadsheet software.
