Increasing Harvard LMSAI Visibility in India: The Country Director will assist with building bridges between Harvard and India related to research and teaching in and about this region. Part of this effort will involve coordinating LMSAI and Indian stakeholder’s efforts in increasing LMSAI’s presence in India. Activities include maintaining current partnerships and securing new connections through the Harvard Club of India in Delhi and Mumbai, and reputable academic and professional institutions in India.
Administrative Functions: Manage the in-region administrative and financial functions from the LMSAI Delhi office, including budget management, reconciliation, and payment of all bills in India through Harvard Global and HBS IRC systems. Manage files in accordance with audit principles, and handle all day-to-day administrative tasks of office. Supervise in region program coordinator, and consultants hired by LMSAI and coordinate and communicate this with LMSAI Executive Director on a regular basis.
Communication with LMSAI: Country Director will be available for a bi-monthly conference call with LMSAI Executive Director, to give updates on status of various activities and to assure that all activities are in compliance with LMSAI standards. You will be responsible for providing LMSAI with in-region news on a regular basis for the LMSAI newsletter and in-region section of the website.
Support Ongoing Harvard faculty Research: The Country Director will work closely with the Harvard LMSAI office to support Harvard faculty visiting India to make connections and build partnerships with academic institutions and think tanks across South Asia. Support for Harvard Students in India: The Country Director will work closely with the Harvard LMSAI office to facilitate connections and make arrangements for Harvard graduate students who travel to India for research and internships.
Support for LMSAI Fellowships: The Country Director will facilitate outreach for LMSAI’s fellowships, which strive to bring scholars from the region to Harvard for a term or academic year.
Grant related work:
Provide oversight and guidance of post award administration of grant funded projects to LMSAI Executive Director and Grants PIs, service providers, consultants, internal and external partners;
Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions as they related to the funded projects and work on the grant;
Overall post award communication, including guiding PIs and awardees on various issues or challenges;
Monitor payments against awarded funds;
Sub–grants: In conjunctions with LMSAI Executive Director, will review all project budgets prior to commencement of work to ensure they correctly outline program expenditures and comply with requirements;
Create system to certify time and effort reports related to the projects as required, certifying that labor distributions are in direct proportion to effort expended on the project.
