About This Role:
Forrester’s certification team designs and delivers outstanding online learning programs, both as standalone course experiences and as an integrated feature of our subscription research services. Successful online learning programs require great technology that brings course content to life and engages learners in a dynamic way.
Reporting to the director of platform and operations within Forrester’s certification organization, the Instructional Technologist uses their knowledge of instructional design principles and technology to create easy, effective, and engaging learning experiences. This individual builds and maintains online courses from content provided by instructional designers and recommends technology options to support the effective delivery of course content. The Instructional Technologist also monitors and implements solutions to correct minor issues in courses and coordinates with product management to implement course improvements and innovations.
Job Description:
Build and maintain new and redesigned courses.
Support the product innovation cycle by testing and implementing course improvements, keeping the end-user and client feedback in mind.
Demonstrate understanding of the functionality and interoperability of courses and learning platform.
Execute functional course QA testing to ensure deliverables meet accuracy, consistency, and quality standards.
Maintain content tagging and provisioning within learning management system.
Create and maintain learner reporting and reporting dashboards.
Understand and execute LMS admin tasks as needed.
Troubleshoot course and platform issues with learners as needed.
Collaborate effectively with the instructional design, product management, and operations teams.
Job Requirements:
BA or BS degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or related fields.
A minimum of three years of experience in designing, developing, and/or testing courses.
Comfortable with and proficient in learning platforms, instructional theory, and instructional design methodologies.
Experience in building and testing with SCORM, AICC, and other formats.
Experience with thought industries platform.
Desire to work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong project management skills.
The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities.
