SMMA Interior Design Summer Intern in Cambridge, Massachusetts
SMMA has an exciting opportunity for an Interior Designer to work on stimulating projects at our Cambridge office. We offer a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that promotes intellectual and creative growth. The candidate(s) will be expected to support a group of 19 interior design professionals and larger project teams to advance design at all levels.
Assisting with drawings by utilizing Autodesk Revit Building Information Modelling (BIM) Software
Assisting in the selection of finishes, materials, and furniture; preparing related presentation boards
Helping maintain the furniture and materials library
Attending lunch and learns with the group
Assisting in the creation of visualization for clients using Revit, Sketch Up, and other rendering tools
Contributing to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Must be working toward a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
3 years minimum education in Interior Design - rising senior
Ability to ideate quickly through utilizing computational design tools
Strong graphic presentation skills and the ability to communicate design ideas
Computer skills: Strong Revit user and knowledge of Adobe Suite and SketchUp
3-D Studio Max a plus but not required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative and team-conscious
