  • Strong data analysis and research skills to perform landscape analysis of the available resources.

  • Excellent people management skills. Must have the ability to foster collaborative relationships with people across levels and functional areas.

  • Experience in content development and learning design.

  • Content expertise in the life sciences (especially, Molecular Biology)

  • Strong background in experimental research techniques.

Additional Information:This is a 2-year grant funded term position with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and the availability of continued funding.

Provide primary direction for content strategy and development. This will require performing gap analysis on development needs, developing an overarching curriculum, and a development roadmap. Manage Secondary School Instructional Design Manager, and the Undergraduate Instructional Design Manager. Manage external content developers. Manage the content development budget. Attend local, national and regional conferences for LabXchange promotion and dissemination. Create content for the platform.

The Head of Content will be the primary force behind the development of LabXchange content. These align with the goal of LabXchange being able to provide pre-lab preparation through learning pathways on an online platform where students and undergraduates alike can communicate, share resources, and enhance their knowledge base of practical lab skills and associated basic science concepts. The Head of Content will apply principles and practices of instructional design in the creation, and delivery of online modules for the learners on the platform. The Head of Content will manage the planning, development, design, implementation, and curation of these online modules and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the content developed and direct the iterative revision process. This position will work manage the other members of the content development team that include the Undergraduate Instructional Design Manager, Secondary School Instructional Design Manager, and oversee the progress of the Junior Project Lead, media producers, online course coordinators, graduate students, faculty and secondary school teachers. The incumbent will drive the project while interacting with and managing faculty content experts responsible for identifying and shaping course content. The Head of Content is responsible for leading multiple projects concurrently, leveraging internal/external resources to meet tight deadlines.
