LEARNING INITIATIVES MANAGER, Media Lab-Lifelong Kindergarten (LLK), to plan and develop activities and programs that enable educators to provide creative learning opportunities for students with diverse interests and backgrounds. Will help build upon the growing interest in coding and creativity in education systems, develop new ways to support LLK tools and ideas in the field, and contribute to its mission of enabling all children to develop as creative learners. Responsibilities include managing/facilitating LLK's collaboration with LEGO Foundation to support children's learning through play in formal educational settings; identifying needs/strategies for supporting educators with Scratch and other LLK research-based initiatives; contributing to strategic planning and priority setting; organizing/facilitating workshops, conference sessions, and other professional opportunities for educators; conceptualizing and developing resources that communicate how to support LLK's creative learning approach in educational settings; developing policy statements to support creative learning with technologies in educational systems internationally; writing reports and documentation; and contributing to the planning and writing of grants. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in education, learning sciences, or related discipline; three years’ experience planning, managing, and leading professional development opportunities for teachers in formal/informal learning environments; experience teaching in public schools, facilitating creative learning initiatives for students with diverse backgrounds, leading educational activities using the Scratch programming language and online community, coordinating/developing educational partnerships, writing educational policy promoting innovative practices to support children and educators, and organizing networking events; knowledge of and experience with educational change efforts internationally; excellent written and spoken communication skills; deep understanding of constructionist educational approaches; and experience conducting educational research and writing for publications.
