  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

  • Knowledge and proficiency in using learning management systems

  • Strong communication skills for the purpose of documentation development, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users

  • Ability to learn new software and systems quickly

  • Knowledge of e-learning best practices and principles

  • Familiarity with multiple learning management systems

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while producing quality deliverables

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Creative Cloud

  • Understanding content integration approaches employed by other providers such as Udemy, Percipio, Pluralsight, EdCast, etc.

Additional Information:This position is based in Boston, but the work may be done primarily remote. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Learning Systems Manager to lead the development and administration of our department's Learning Management Systems. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and vendors to ensure optimal system configuration, content integration, and support.

As the primary owner of the department's learning environment, you will be responsible for assigning and roles and permissions, identifying trends, resolving issues, providing strategy for monitoring platform and content performance, and evaluating integration and module requests. You will provide strategic direction to ensure that our LMS supports the organization's vision, goals, and objectives.

Additionally, you will proactively identify new technologies and processes to enhance the LMS, and make data-driven decisions to implement them, ensuring that the LMS remains an innovative and effective learning environment for our portfolio of degree programs and courses. We are looking for a forward-thinking and results-driven leader who can successfully drive the LMS strategy, maximize the LMS features and functionality, and provide exceptional support to faculty and staff.
