MLIS or other relevant degree
Minimum of 2 years working in a library or knowledge services
Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop (or other editing software)
Familiarity managing metadata and content to support access and discovery
Familiarity with data reporting and analysis, particularly reporting out of MS Access
Excellent and engaging communications skills
Strong customer service orientation and business acumen
Expertise in searching bibliographic and library research databases
Team player who is also comfortable working independently
Capacity for continuous learning and innovation
Comfort working with ambiguity and proven ability to flourish in a changing environment

The Knowledge Services Librarian manages several projects and systems in support of the LKS digital initiatives strategy, including but not limited to identifying and implementing new business processes around the digital content lifecycle; managing digital course materials for Degree Programs and Executive Education and making recommendations on integrating with the Harvard community as practices and technology change; supporting the full lifecycle of LKS digital collections projects (such as ArchiveIt, DASH, DRS); supporting digital content initiatives (such as implementation of a RIM, data and usage analysis of the HKS website and taxonomy); training and supporting the HKS community in the front and/or the back-end of the various systems managed by LKS through the Knowledge Services team.
Leads on Knowledge Services strategy in alignment with LKS digital initatives strategy to support the operation content strategy for HKS, working closely with the Associate Director, Library and Knowledge Services and other stakeholders; Has an understanding of the research and digital landscape, the role of library partnerships and the capabilities and limits of library support to ensure operational content is structured effectively for use across the HKS public website, KNet, and other relevant systems; including reporting on and informing the use of the HKS Taxonomy and other structured vocabulary.
Manages multiple projects, working closely with the Associate Directorand Digital Collections Coordinator to make HKS Library digital collections accessible and discoverable through the best available technologies.
Consults with faculty, graduate students, staff, providing complex customer service to support them online services, reviewing future technology needs
Sets strategy for the digital content initiatives, including management of vendor relationships and implementation of a RIM at HKS and analysis and reporting on digital content strategies related to LKS digital content; Builds expertise in Drupal and SharePoint implementations at HKS to support Library and HKS content initiatives.
Manages the monitoring, and processing of course materials requests through the Online Course Materials (OCM) system; Ensures citation accuracy and full-text availability to publish online through Canvas or in print; Verifies quality of scanned materials and makes any necessary adjustments; Works with the HKS student disability coordinator to provide course materials to students with disabilities quickly and efficiently; Coordinates and manages the entire copyright invoicing process, inclusive of vetting and approval of copyright invoices from publishers;
Makes business process recommendations as well as monitor emerging trends at Harvard Library and the larger academic research library community to better the HKS online course materials experience.
Recommends evolving digital tools and platforms to LKS to support the creation of impactful, effective, and sustainable digital scholarship.
Creates data analytics to report on LKS digital collections and content systems, as well as ad hoc request by the Associate Director, to support decision making.
Collaborates across LKS and other Harvard Library and HKS groups to manage projects in a timely manner.
Contributes to the improvement of library services and programs.
