Robert Half Paralegal in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description

Our client, a successful investment company, is seeking a Paralegal to join their legal team in the real estate field.

Role: Real Estate Paralegal

Location: Cambridge, MA

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 (hourly pay - OT eligible)

Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in / 2 days remote

Responsibilities:

  • Review legal contracts and approvals using approved templates and standardized checklists.

  • Manage document execution and filing processes, including drafting cover sheets, setting up documents in DocuSign, circulating hard copies, scanning and saving files with proper naming conventions, coordinating distribution, and updating document statuses in relevant software systems. Periodically run contract reports and maintain an organized archive of original documents for auditing and efficient retrieval.

  • Draft various form letter agreements, such as notice letters, simple amendments, SNDAs, and estoppels.

  • Examine title insurance policies and land surveys for accuracy and compliance.

  • Input investment, real estate, and vendor contract Terms & Conditions (T& Cs) into software systems and collaborate with Legal staff to ensure compliance and proper monitoring.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of legal entities for real estate investments, including reviewing annual state reports, updating governing documents, and drafting tax forms.

  • Coordinate data management and deadline tracking for the Real Estate Legal team by updating and communicating critical dates tied to legal action items.

  • Address and, when necessary, direct internal and external inquiries regarding the status of legal documents, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred.

  • Experience in a real estate law firm or an in-house real estate legal department/office preferred.

  • Experience with COMMERCIAL real estate required.

  • Experience with legal documents in real estate management/development.

  • Great computer skills, including fluency in Outlook email and calendaring, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Experience with iManage and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.

  • Be the liaison between several stakeholders at varying levels; and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
