PHYSICS TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR, DIGITAL LEARNING, Physics, to work closely with faculty and staff to help run on-campus blended classes and global modules leveraging the edX platform. Will work with educational staff to update content, coordinate the online component of labs, manage online discussion forums, and general maintenance of the courses. Will also stay connected to an MIT-wide community of people working with the Office of Open Learning to advance digital learning for the purpose of furthering the education of MIT students and learners around the world. The main focus with be the freshman introductory physic sequence; but some amount of assistance with other courses, especially the undergraduate quantum mechanics courses, may be required. May also work to evaluate and improve blended learning and labs and assist with educational research studies.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in physics or related field, experience with LaTeX and GitHub, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work both independently and with a wide variety of people, and a desire to learn new skills. Familiarity with learning or course management systems (LMSs or CMSs); experience programming in Python, JavaScript, XML, or CSS; experience using Adobe Illustrator; and knowledge of instructional design or course development a plus.
