POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, ONLINE AND BLENDED TEACHER LEARNING, Comparative Media Studies/Writing (CMS/W)-Teaching Systems Lab, to conduct research into online/blended professional learning experiences for K-12 teachers on equity in education. Will work with design and research staff to investigate educator learning within online courses and modules and study how educators apply and share their learning. Potential topics include how teachers learn and interact with others in online environments, how educators integrate their learning in their own teaching and within their school environments, and how online learning environments can be designed to encourage wider dissemination of materials and resources within schools. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining research-practice partnerships with K-12 schools, working with online course developers and researchers to plan for research and data collection, collecting and analyzing data, and writing publications for high-impact scholarly and practitioner venues.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: doctoral degree in learning science, teacher education, or related field; publication record directed at both scholarly and practitioner audiences; experience with qualitative, mixed-methods research, and researcher-practitioner partnerships; ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated experience with and commitment to promoting equity and diversity. Seek candidates focused on partnership-driven research with K-12 schools that serve primarily low-income or students of color. Familiarity with design-based research, online learning research, and evaluation preferred.
