Position Description
Professor David Yang is looking to hire highly skilled and motivated full-time research fellows to begin in the summer or fall of 2023, and to work for two-three years. The job will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects in political economy, especially on topics related to China, technology, and the state. The research fellows will work closely with David and his collaborators, including Noam Yuchtman ( LSE ), Shaoda Wang (UChicago), Daron Acemoglu ( MIT ), and Ben Olken ( MIT ).
The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
• Strong quantitative background
• Strong computer skills including programming
• Ability to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prior research assistant experience strongly preferred
• Background in economic research is a plus, but not necessary – we welcome candidates with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to economics.
The position will be based at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA).
Competitive full-time salary and health insurance will be provided. Visa sponsorship will be
provided if needed.
