PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP)-MIT Online Science, Technology and Engineering Community (MOSTEC), to join MOSTEC ( , a rigorous, six-month enrichment program exposing rising high school seniors to science and engineering fields. It is held primarily online with a five-day conference component at MIT. Will oversee day-to-day administration and lead a collaborative implementation team. Responsibilities include supervising and providing direction to program staff, temporary staff, and consultants; leading the implementation of all aspects of the program, e.g., logistics, planning, hiring and training staff, program evaluation, student recruitment and selection, and stakeholder (e.g., parents, students, vendors, donors) communication/engagement; contributing to and attending events; and other duties as necessary.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, engineering, and/or education; three years’ related experience in program development, program coordination, and/or education; ability to multitask; and support for MIT’s commitment to diversity and serving diverse constituents. PREFERRED: master’s degree; one year of experience managing program staff/direct reports; meticulous attention to detail; strong analytical, project coordination, problem-solving, organizational, leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; ability to collaborate as part of a team with diverse backgrounds/skills sets; proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel), cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint, Dropbox), social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mail Chimp), and content/experience management systems (e.g., WordPress, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics); flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment; experience with online education, distance learning, and outreach programs; training in a scientific/technical field; good judgment with confidential information and in unexpected situations; experience with high school students and coordinating staff, including undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals; written and oral Spanish language skills; and MIT experience. Must be able to work a varied hybrid schedule (in office two days, remote three days) with some evening and weekend hours and to live on campus in dorms (5-10 days) with students during program execution.
