PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Office of the Vice Chancellor-Office of Minority Education (OME), to assist with the coordination of academic enrichment and support programs for MIT undergraduates, with a primary focus on underrepresented minority students (Black/African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latinx, Alaskan and Pacific Islander). These programs include the Interphase EDGE Program, Seminar XL/LE, Talented Scholars Resource Room (TSR2), orientation and graduation programs, the Committee on Academic Performance (CAP), Campus Preview Weekend (CPW), etc. Responsibilities include assisting with identifying and selecting program participants including students, mentors, faculty, staff, industry representatives, workshop facilitators, etc.; purchasing supplies and other resources; coordinating event logistics and agendas; assisting with data entry and database management, e.g., tracking enrollment and participation; assisting with the evaluation and assessment of programs, including reporting enrollment and assessment data; providing general and academic advising and referrals to students who participate in the programs outlined above as well as other students (and student organizations) seeking general advising and support; contributing content to and assisting with developing and disseminating marketing and publicity materials, e.g., office publications, flyers, website, social media, etc.; and providing additional support as assigned. REQUIRED: B.S./B.A. in a math/science field, education, student affairs/advising, or a related field; three years’ professional administrative experience, preferably with at least one year in a higher education setting or similar area; experience with general student advising and coordinating academic excellence programs for undergraduate students, particularly underrepresented minority students; ability to maneuver supply/resource cart weighted at 30lbs.; and advanced computer skills using standard programs, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro, etc. Working knowledge of MIT and OME desired.
