PROGRAM DIRECTOR FOR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORING, Office of the Vice Provost (https://provost.mit.edu/people/vice-provost-for-faculty/) , will enhance faculty success by supporting and scaling mentorship and graduate advising programs, new faculty orientation, and advancement initiatives across various career levels. Will organize and prioritize activities, manage project budgets, schedules, and scope, and identify stakeholders while developing process improvements and resolving issues; foster community engagement opportunities, stay informed on best practices in professional development, and collaborate with the Vice Provost to promote an inclusive mentorship culture; and contribute to faculty-focused community-building, pilot peer mentorship programs, and offer training to faculty mentors and mentees to foster culturally competent mentoring relationships across disciplines, while advising junior faculty on building external mentorship connections.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree and at least five years of administration, operations, or project/program experience; ability to communicate with senior-level leaders internal and external to MIT on behalf of the Office; collaborative approach to defining opportunities or challenges, as well as solutions to address them; deep understanding of faculty culture and values; ability to work strategically as well as operationally and to deal with confidential and sensitive information and issues using discretion; and excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills, both oral and written. PREFERRED: Ph.D.; progressive experience in faculty affairs; and Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) or other research advisor/faculty-student mentorship training certification. Hiring salary range: (grade 10) $100,000 - $140,000 annually, based on experience and internal equity.
