College background or equivalent in experience in Molecular Biology, Neurobiology or Cell Biology required.
At least one-year laboratory experience (relevant coursework may count towards experience).
Cell culture experience (preferably human induced pluripotent stem cells) is required.
Additional Qualifications:B.S. or M.S. degree or equivalent in molecular biology, neurobiology, cell biology, or a similar discipline. Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, library preparation, flow-cytometry, and FACS is strongly preferred. Experience in working with cell culture and human iPSCs.Additional Information:This is a term position through August 31, 2020, with a potential for renewal.

Department:GeneticsPre-Employment Screening:Identity Schedule:35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday Job Function:Research Job-Specific Responsibilities:We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant to join us in the Church lab at Harvard Medical School and the Wyss Institute. You will play a hands-on role in a highly collaborative and dynamic group that develops and implements technologies to differentiate and characterize iPSC cellular models for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). We will use these models for high-throughput phenotypic assays to discover novel targets and processes that can inform therapeutic development.
Key responsibilities include:
Reprogramming and maintaining human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
Differentiating iPSC-based models such as cerebral organoids.
Establishing cellular phenotypic assays.
