Job Function:Research Job-Specific Responsibilities:Full-time lab-based research assistant wanted to assist Perrimon Lab postdoctoral fellow with primarily genetics and molecular biology experiments. The primary focus of this position will be to help develop specific biological tools to study nervous system function and testing these tools through behavioral assays and genetic interaction studies. The ideal candidate is organized, diligent and communicative and has prior experience in/or basic biochemistry, molecular biology, cell culture, and Drosophila genetics. Principle Responsibilities: Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, Gibson, and gateway cloning methods, gel electrophoresis) to generate and analyze plasmid DNA for the purpose of generating new genetic tools.
