College level coursework in biological or biochemical sciences is required.
At least one-year biological laboratory research experience with tissue culture (relevant coursework in biological sciences may count towards experience).
BA/BS in biological or biochemical sciences is strongly preferred.
Individuals with prior lab experience, especially in mammalian cell culture, are strongly preferred.
Some experience with growing and differentiating pluripotent cells would also be valuable.
Good communication skills and a strong desire to work as part of a group are essential.
Additional Information:This is a two year grant funded term position with the possibility of extension based on availability of continued funding and satisfactory performance.

Experiments will involve maintaining neuronal and pancreatic beta cell cultures, and applying standard molecular and cell biological techniques, including immunohistochemistry, qPCR, and Western blotting. In addition, there is an opportunity to participate in high-throughput drug discovery experiments involving robotics and automated confocal imaging. Research assistants will collect, organize, analyze, and report experimental results using software and spreadsheet applications. RA will participate in overall laboratory operations that may include maintenance of equipment, ordering lab supplies, and keeping an inventory of laboratory samples.
