An MA in statistics or a related field is ideal. The candidate must demonstrate interest and experience in statistics and health policy research. Must be proficient with LaTeX and other computer software including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Must have a good command of statistical programming languages, in particular, R. Must learn other software as needed. Independent judgment, patience, and good communication skills are required to respond effectively to varied/complex tasks. Organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Flexibility and the ability to work with a team are essential. Must be able to maintain a calm and cooperative attitude during periods of increased staff activity.Additional Information: This is a term position for one year with the strong possibility of renewal.

Job Function:Research Duties & Responsibilities:The Research Assistant (RA) will assist with and help coordinate the daily operations of Dr. Zubizarreta’s research and mentoring projects. Dr. Zubizarreta is a statistician and the projects to be conducted relate to methodological and applied research in causal inference.

The responsibilities of the RA include: implementing statistical methods in programming languages such as R and STATA; preparing and analyzing large data sets; coordinating activities of the DENS lab; supporting the development of grant applications and preparing presentations; participating in team meetings and (as needed) take minutes of meetings for distribution to the team; assisting in literature reviews as needed and in the preparation and revision of manuscripts for publication; aiding the preparation of teaching materials; working on IRB renewals and other applications and projects as needed. A strong background in statistics is required.
