• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years of research experience, preferably including experience with cell culture, molecular biology protocols (e.g., PCR), biochemistry protocols (e.g., antibody conjugations, purifications), tissue processing, in situ staining protocols (IF, IHC, FISH), fluorescence microscopy, and/or image analysis
• Good laboratory practices, attention to detail
• Experience in planning experiments and adjusting protocols, organizing data, and maintenance of lab notebook
• Competence in time management and working independently to achieve specific research milestones¿
• Effective communication (oral and written) skills and management of interactions with multiple lab members
• Basic computer skills
This is a one year term position with the possibility of renewal.

The lab specializes in developing and applying DNA-based technology, including the application of DNA probes to transform biomolecular imaging and understand cell and tissue organization. Techniques developed there include highly multiplexed tissue imaging with DNA barcoded probes, super-resolution multiplexed DNA-based optical imaging methods, as well as complementary methods of recording macromolecular features in synthetic DNA for sequencing readout. Recently, the lab has developed a multiplexed DNA-based signal amplification method called Signal Amplification by Exchange Reaction (SABER) to enable high-throughput multiplexed tissue imaging. The successful candidate may work on a variety of these imaging projects, applying molecular biology and biochemistry protocols to construct, amplify, conjugate, or assemble components and probe sets (such as fluorescence in situ hybridization oligos or antibodies) and in turn apply them to recording or fluorescence imaging applications in vitro (e.g., proteins in solution) or on biological materials (e.g., live or fixed cells and tissues for IF, IHC, FISH protocols). Equipment may include advanced optical microscopes (e.g., fluorescence, TIRF, or confocal), Next Generation Sequencers, and a variety of cell and molecular biology equipment.
