Position Description
Five full-time positions as Research Associate and Visiting Faculty for the academic year 2025-26. Proposals for book-length research projects utilizing both religion and gender as central categories of analysis and focusing on any religion are welcomed. They may address women and religion in any time, place, or religious tradition, and may utilize disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches from across the fields of theology, the humanities, and the social sciences. Application deadline is October 15, 2024.
Basic Qualifications
PhD or Terminal Degree received in hand by October 1, 2024 in the area of the project.
Additional Qualifications
Selection criteria emphasize the quality of the applicant’s research prospectus, outlining objectives and methods; its fit with the Program’s research priorities; the significance of the contribution of the proposed research to the study of religion, gender, and to its field; and an agreement to produce a publishable piece of work.

1) Project Description
Please give a description of your proposed research project outlining objectives and methods, in particular its focus on the interaction of religion and gender. Relate your project to the general context of women’s studies scholarship, indicating its potential contribution to women’s studies and to your field. Statement should not exceed four double-spaced pages (1250 words). (Note: Because the research prospectus is of central importance in evaluating applications, it should be written for this Program.)
2) Proposed Course Description
Please provide a title and description of the course related to your research project, which you propose to offer. The course design should place your research in a broad context appropriate to the Divinity School. Description should not exceed one page.
3) Other Statement
Please describe your background in women’s studies and assess the importance of a Research Associate position for your work. Statement should not exceed 750 words.
4) CV
CV should include educational background, professional history, honors and awards, languages, and any published work with full bibliographic citation, including work in progress. CV should not exceed ten pages.
5) Writing Sample
Please provide a sample of current work such as a chapter or article, or work of comparable length.
6) Two Letters of Recommendation
They should comment on your academic qualifications and your ability to complete the proposed project. (An automated message will be sent to your recommenders.)
