Who we are

Efgb - French Education Greater Boston - is a non-profit organization that aims to provide francophone families in the Boston area affordable high quality educational options for children. Our goal is to share our passion for French language and francophone cultures with the greater Boston community by offering programs and events that bring together and celebrate the diverse nature of the francophone community.

EFGB is a French Immersion school (Toddler to 5th grade) with three campuses located in Watertown and Cambridge.

Our school aims to reinforces a child’s sense of belonging to a Francophone community and helps him/her build a truly bilingual identity. Our multicultural student body and staff is unique and provides a diverse and fun environment to work in.

Our school has a team based approach where teachers are mutually supportive and collaborate closely in developing and executing curriculum planning, social studies, Mathematics, Arts and Crafts and/or project based learning. The school offers our children high quality programming based on requirements and standards set by the French National Education guidelines and enhanced by Early Education Curriculum (EEC) programming. Our lessons are designed to promote the physical, intellectual and emotional development and well-being of each child. Students will acquire knowledge and skills while developing reasoning and critical thinking abilities.

Job Summary

We are opening a new campus! We are looking to hire our new creative and motivated Director to help us implement an enriching and stimulating curriculum.

Here at Efgb French School, teachers work in teams to create quality environments for children. Our Mission is to promote a positive learning environment and personalized approach that sets the stage for extraordinary learning experiences. Classroom teams create developmentally appropriate lesson plans following the french standards.

Our new Director will be in charge of our Summer Camp program during the summer.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities

  • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff

  • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required

  • Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with licensing guidelines and program policies

  • Attend workshops in order to further advance professional development

  • Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines

  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • Teaching credential/certificate/license for corresponding age/grade level

  • 2 years of teaching experience

  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students

  • Experience developing and implementing curriculum

  • Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room

  • Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum

  • Be in charge of the Summer Camp program and develop the camp in the 2 others campuses.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicant must be a positive team player, hands-on, enjoy being outdoors, and able to multi-task. The candidate should conduct oneself professionally and provide quality teaching and nurturing care to children (infant through 6 years) enrolled in the program. Prior classroom experience working with young children. Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Strong written and communication skills

  • We are seeking EEC certified Toddler/Preschooler Director. Candidates should have prior experience working in a classroom setting and provide 2 references. Speaking French is absolutly not required, our team is mixed with anglophone and francophone. Our school is growing rapidly, apply now!
