We are seeking an organic chemist, surface chemist, biochemist, or molecular biologist with experience in surface chemistry, microfluidics, and working with nucleic acid or protein microarrays. The position will involve the use of microfluidic devices to isolate and purify nucleic acid samples, automated sample prep, and working with surface immobilized enzymatic assays.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision, and be able to interface with all levels of internal management as well as program sponsors and subcontractors. Design and execute experiments for selective modifications of surfaces
Chemical modification of nanomaterials, patterned substrates, and microfluidic devices
Development and characterization of stable nanomaterial solutions
Design and carry out assays to optimize surface chemistry for biochemical reactions on the surface
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline and demonstrated experience in a laboratory/R&D setting. PhD preferred.
Ability to acquire and maintain a US government security clearance (US citizen or permanent resident). Existing clearance strongly preferred.
