The Office for Global and Community Health ( OGCH ) supports and coordinates Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s ( HSDM ) initiatives locally and around the world. We work with both faculty and students to promote public health dentistry, raise awareness, and alleviate disease burden through innovative student and faculty programs.
OGCH is seeking a Research Associate (RA) to collaborate with the team in the Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine and participate in research studies and demonstration projects that contribute to the evidence base for integration of medical and dental care, education and financing. These include investigating associations between oral health and: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, Alzheimer’s disease and cancers of the oral cavity as well as innovative models for financing care. The RA would also participate in quantitative research, drafting manuscripts, and supporting faculty.
This position has a term appointment of one year from the date of hire with the possibility for extension.

A PhD is required in statistics, computer science, or another relevant field.
DMD preferred. Experience with large data sets, claims data, cluster analysis and statistical/programming packages ( SQL , R, and Linux) preferred. Some prior research experience in public health preferred. A graduate degree at the Master’s level or higher in statistics, computer science, or another relevant field may be considered.
