Position Description

The Harvard Quantum Initiative, together with the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and Department of Physics, seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in quantum science and engineering broadly defined, including, but not limited to, quantum systems and architectures. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment in either the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology or the Department of Physics. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter. The tenure-track professor will be responsible for establishing an active research program, supervising students and postdoctoral fellows, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate or terminal degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and advising is desired.

Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received. At least one letter must come from someone who has not served as the candidate’s undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral advisor.
