The Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the Department of Physics seeks applicants for a position at the tenured (full professor) level in Experimental Quantum Materials and Devices, with an expected start date of July 1, 2017.
SEAS and the Department of Physics seek to jointly appoint a tenured professor whose interdisciplinary research and teaching will advance the field of Quantum Materials and Devices with an emphasis on the synthesis of advanced materials. The successful candidate will be expected to work with other faculty at Harvard to extend the frontiers of this field, benefitting from the shared facilities in the Center for Nanoscale Systems.
Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree in this field by the expected start date and at least three years of experience leading an independent research program.
We also seek candidates with a demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and research. Candidates should also evince intellectual leadership, impact on the field, and the potential for significant contributions to the School, Department, University, and wider scholarly community.
