Phoenix Charter Academy Child Development Center Manager in Chelsea, Massachusetts
Specific Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to: Maintaining records of each child?s progress and development for the purpose of planning. Completing observations, assessments, and planning to ensure all children?s involvement in the lesson plan, including students with diverse needs Developing a positive relationship with each child and promoting the development of self-esteem and self discipline. Developing a positive relationship with each child?s family and sharing information about the child?s day at the center. Providing a safe, nurturing learning environment. Meeting with the Director of Operations weekly and sharing any concerns or suggestions for the children/center. Reviewing and providing feedback on Assistant Teacher lesson plans. Supervising Assistant Teachers during weekly supervision Scheduling Assistant Teacher hours and approving payroll Performing other duties as required or assigned. Physical Requirements Must have the ability to: Lift up to 40 lbs. Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping Push emergency evacuation buckets with up to 150 lbs. of weight Have the mobility required to ensure the safety of the children Work with children on the floor Perform duty cleaning Light typing and word processing Qualifications & Competencies Professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, especially in the field of early childhood education and/or child development, meeting the requirements of licensing agencies and accrediting organizations. Director I or Director II level certified required A warm, sensitive, mature individual who relates well to children and young adults. Must be able to learn and grow from critical feedback. Educational Requirement Bachelor?s degree in child, Early Childhood Education preferred but not required Other Documentation of Tuberculin-free condition Criminal Background Check Bilingual (especially Spanish-speaking) and candidates from diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.
