Job Description

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $53,950 to $67,450; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Working with broad discretion under the oversight of the Associate Director of the Academic Advising Center, the Assistant Director will provide program development consultation, assistance and support to school and department/program faculty and staff who oversee the academic advising of pre-major students and of declared majors in the several academic fields. The Assistant Director of Academic Advising will provide orientation, ongoing training and program consultation, and support to undergraduate administrators, faculty, staff, and students in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences on advising practices, assessment and planning. In addition the Assistant Director will share responsibility for training and supervising the students who serve as Advising Fellows

Requirements

  • Master's degree required; advanced training in higher education administration, academic advising or counseling highly desirable.

  • Experience in a high-level support or a management role in higher education, or experience in assessment, planning, program reviews, self-studies, academic advising, working with individuals under time and multitasking pressures.

  • Familiarity with academic policy, curricular models and with models of decision-making in higher education.
