Emerson Hospital Behavioral Health Nurse Educator in Concord, Massachusetts
Reporting to the Director of Education, serves as a change agent, leader, mentor, role model, partner for practice transition, and learning facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning and implementing, and evaluating educational activities for Patient Care Services. The Behavioral Health Nurse Educator uses the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of the specialty to improve the healthcare practice of learners. Utilizing instructional techniques and adult learning principles, this position develops and implements job aids, performance criteria, clinical competencies and interactive practical experiences to support staff development based on identified educational needs.
Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience, including experience in area of specialty.
Licensure and/or Certification
Current license as a registered nurse in Massachusetts required.
BLS instructor certification required within 3 months of employment.
Certification preferred in specialty and Nursing Professional Development
Critical thinking/problem solving
Program and curriculum development
Simulation and programming of equipment
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
