State of Massachusetts Contracted Educator Effectiveness Program Coordinator in Everett, Massachusetts

As a state contracted employee, you must participate in direct deposit and contribute towards the Commonwealth of Massachusetts state alternate retirement plan, ("OBRA Plan"). The Department of Elementary & Secondary Education’s Center for Instructional Support is seeking a contracted or post retirement employee to support a robust portfolio of work aimed at ensuring all students have diverse and effective educators. This is a one-year opportunity (with the possibility for renewal pending available funding) focused on providing administrative and communications support for projects within the Office of Educator Effectiveness, as well as managing MA educator recognitions programs. This contract currently runs through June 30, 2025. Description of Duties / Essential Functions 1. Coordinating educator recognition programs within the Office of Educator Effectiveness. This will include: ○ Managing the recruitment and selection of the 2026 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year in partnership with a vendor. ○ Working with the Commissioner’s office on activities to support our distinguished educators. ○ Identifying recommended educators for the Milken Family Foundation’s Educator Award in accordance with the organization’s guidelines. 2. Developing the Educator Effectiveness Newsletter and related communications. This will include: ○ Working with EE staff on the development and dissemination of the monthly EE Newsletter and annual Welcome Letter(s) to districts and educator preparation providers. ○ Preparing, copyediting, and releasing communications through MailChimp. 3. Providing internal support for all educator preparation program review and implementation support. This will include: o Drafting and copyediting communications to preparation providers re: formal approval processes and policies. o Providing logistical and planning support for Ed Prep Advisory Group and/or Ed Prep Communities of Practice. o Providing logistical and communications support for educator preparation program reviews. 4. Providing support to Preparation Programs and Educators through the ongoing monitoring of and response to email inboxes. This will include: ○ Monitoring and responding to inquires in the test help inboxes for the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) and the Performance Assessment for Leaders (PAL). ○ Monitoring and responding inquiries from teacher candidates and preparation providers via the Educator Preparation inbox. 5. Providing support on Educator Effectiveness Projects. This will include: o Providing logistical and planning support to the Principal and Teacher Advisory Cabinets o Supporting updates to and dissemination of the educator evaluation implementation resources o Supporting the dissemination and follow-up for Stakeholder Surveys o Managing public records requests o Support the review of equitable access submission for grant monitoring reviews 6. Additional projects as needed. Additional projects are not anticipated at this time but may be added depending on the needs of the agency. Preferred qualifications: • Strong written communication skills, including ability to tailor communication to a variety of audiences. • Excellent project management skills. A successful candidate will be able to manage multiple, shifting priorities with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
