Our Kids Academy is seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher. The ideal candidate will assist the Preschool Director in the day to day functioning of the program as well as provide supervision and insure safety of the children at all times.
The EEC Infant/Toddler or Preschool Teacher will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children, including using a positive approach to help children behave constructively with re-direction, planning ahead, encouragement of appropriate behavior and pro-social skills. The schedule is Monday through Friday, first shift with various hours based on program schedule.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following sets of requirements: 1.) have successfully completed three credits in category Child Growth and Development and have nine months of work experience or one practicum; or 2.) have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential; orhave graduated from a two year high school vocational program in early childhood education, approved by the Department for both the education and experience requirements and have been evaluated and recommended by the program instructor or be 21 years of age.
The following education may substitute for a portion of the required work experience: 1.) An Associates or Bachelors degree in early childhood education or a related field of study may substitute for six months of the related experience 2. A Bachelors degree in an unrelated field of study may substitute for three months of the required experience.
To be qualified as a preschool teacher, three months of the required work experience must be in care giving to preschool age children.
Previous EEC experience is preferred.
The schedule is Monday through Friday with various first shift hours.
