The Elementary School at FRCS serves approximately 750 students in grades K-4. Join a team where your voice will be heard and each day you will feel like you are making a difference! Job Summary: The person in this position is for a ES SPED liaison for grades 3 and 4. They will be responsible for providing a safe, developmentally appropriate early childhood program as well as supporting as a special education teacher at the elementary school and is highly qualified to provide instruction and coordinate services for children as assigned. This position will work in partnership with parents, students, teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators in accordance with Federal and State Regulations. Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will: Work effectively with general education teachers in the inclusion setting to differentiate instruction/assessments and accommodate/modify materials to meet the needs of students. Provide remediation and reteaching of skills to support students in the general education classroom. Actively participate in the inclusion classroom using various models of co-teaching Write and maintain Individualized Education Plans including all related documents (i.e. amendments, progress reports etc.). Collect and use data effectively to drive instruction and monitor student progress. Weekly consultation with special education and general education staff. Communicate consistently and effectively with families, related service providers, teachers and administrators. Write and implement transition plans as needed. Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities Pre K - 8 and hold an SEI endorsement Solid understanding of Massachusetts Special Education Requirements Candidates are subject to background checks including CORI Clearance and Fingerprinting. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment. Qualifications- Preferred: Education: Hold a Master’s degree Experience working in an urban school district Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction Experience in co-teaching within the inclusion setting Experience conducting academic achievement evaluations and writing IEPs Strong progress monitoring skills This position is a part of the FRCSTA bargaining unit. Salary begins at $50,000 and will commensurate with experience, including professional years of service in a school and educational attainment.
