Staples Senior Instructional Designer in Framingham, Massachusetts

This role supports the coordination and development of training solutions designed to provide associates with the necessary skills and knowledge they need to be successful in their jobs. With minimal supervision and support from the Manager, L&D, this individual will design and develop learning deliverables for our associates. Additionally, the Senior Instructional Designer will partner with Learning Advisors from diverse business units to develop and deliver curricula that meets or exceeds established expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and develop innovative training solutions that meet SCORM compliance standards and are based in sound instructional designs strategies
Develop and create content using rapid development tools and prototyping methods
Update/support existing curricula including PPTX, ILT, virtual training, e-learning, m-learning and coaching deliverables
Develop job aids and quick reference aids
Convert existing training formats to e-learning/ m-learning formats following design standards and processes
Design, develop, test, debug and deliver learning solutions to the L&D Ops team for LMS publishing
Effectively partner with Learning Advisors to understand and meet business unit expectations
Produces high quality work within short project cycles
Manage multiple projects under aggressive timelines
Assist in the overall project administration including measuring program effectiveness
Creative and eager to develop new and innovative solutions
Detail oriented; ability to work on diverse teams; excellent communication skills- verbal and written
Qualifications
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
5-7+ years producing training deliverables
5+ years producing online training deliverables
2+ years producing mobile training deliverables
Retail experience preferred
Experience with PC hardware and equipment; iOS preferred
Solid background and knowledge in instructional design theories and models
Solid experience with software tools including: Microsoft Office/ Articulate Storyline/Articulate Rise/ Adobe Captivate
Knowledge of Lectora and other authoring tools and technologies
Ability to develop animations and graphics to supplement standard e-learning design
Preferred
Experience with training evaluation tools and survey software i.e. Survey Monkey, Microsoft Forms
Comprehension of graphic design and/or photography principles
Experience with authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Premiere and Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, iMovie, Final Cut etc.
Experience with audio/video techniques, audio recording, a/v equipment and practices
Knowledge of LMS systems, experience with Cornerstone LMS platform
