Amego Certified Head Teacher: Severe/Profound in Franklin, Massachusetts
Description The Head Teacher is responsible for the education of the students in their classroom of five students. Essential duties include: writing IEPs, lesson planning, progress monitoring, training and supervising assistant staff, collaborating with related service providers (PT, OT, SLP, BCBA), compiling MCAS-ALT portfolios, and maintaining regular parent communication. A good candidate will be someone who performs well under pressure, has high energy, and looks forward to being part of a growing, dynamic team in which they can grow professionally and have fun. A good candidate will have experience modifying academic content and providing accommodations to meet needs of extremely diverse learners. In addition to, presenting at parent progress and IEP meetings with the whole Team. A good candidate will also have experience teaching skills in the areas of functional life skills, community participation, and pre-vocational training. REQUIREMENTS Licensed to teach special education ? severe and profound disabilities OR currently on a path to receive such license OR a willingness to pursue such license combined with appropriate experience Experience working with students with Autism in a classroom setting Willingness to work with students who engage in challenging behaviors Willingness to implement physical management procedures up to and including physical restraint in order to maintain the safety of students and staff Experience with ABA, including discrete trial teaching and task analysis BENEFITS Salary: $45,000 to $60,000 10 weeks paid benefit time- a combination of vacation, sick, and personal time Tuition reimbursement is available for those willing to pursue education Mentoring is available by license special educators Short-term and long-term disability Qualifications Licenses & Certifications Required Severe Disabilities Lic.
