GARDNER Instructor FT Faculty- Media Arts & Technology - Mount Wachusett Community College Location: Gardner, MA Category: Faculty Job Description: General Statement of Duties Mount Wachusett Community College is a Community College committed to fostering civic learning and community engagement in its educational offerings. A faculty member's workload shall consist of the following duties: instructional duties and non-instructional duties (i.e. office hours, college service, community service, and professional development). Responsibilities A Faculty member shall be responsible for such community service and professional development activities as mutually agreed by the President of the College or the President's designee and the faculty member. Consistent with the principles and standards of academic freedom and responsibilities, support the college's mission to infuse service learning and civic engagement into the classroom as applicable. Teaches courses as assigned by the Division Dean; Participates in student assistance/advisement; Maintains office hours; Participates in college service activities (i.e. college committees, meetings, activities, etc.); Participates in community service and professional development activities. Job Requirements: Required: Bachelor's degree in Media / Communications, Broadcasting, Media production, Media Arts or related field required, Master's degree preferred. 3-5 years of college teaching experience required. 5 - 10 years work experience in the video production industry required. Technical Proficiency: Ability to efficiently use and instruct operation of advanced components in MWCC's video production facilities such as: Setting up and troubleshooting live switched multi camera video systems; Fully equipped HD studios with Broadcast PIX Granite or equivalent video switcher, teleprompter, digital audio boards, graphic support systems; Industry standard EFP and Studio cameras; Digital cinema cameras; Camera support systems including jibs, pedestals, and dollies; Field and Studio lighting packages; Administration of Avid Nexis storage servers, and Dante audio networks; Audio acquisition for visual media including wired and wireless microphones, boom pole technique, field mixers, and multi-system sound; Avid Media Composer; Adobe Photoshop and AfterEffects; Video compression software.
