Greenfield Community College is located in the beautiful and historic Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts, between the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Connecticut River watershed. GCC is a public community college serving Franklin and Hampshire Counties, Southern Vermont and Southern New Hampshire. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Workforce Development, the Workforce Development Program Manager is responsible for directing program operations, developing program goals, overseeing and organizing work activities, building and implementing Workforce training programs to meet local labor market needs, and direct supervision of Workforce Development Training instructors.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Develop curriculum (i.e. identify industry recognized credential, partner with subject matter experts to develop program, create implementation plan)
Implement training programs including scheduling, recruitment, hiring and evaluation of non-credit instructors
Participate in new grant development including building grant budgets and stated outcomes
Work closely with Associate Dean of WFD and the Associate Dean of Allied Health to implement new Healthcare training programs in conjunction with local employer needs
Provide student success coaching and wrap-around services support as needed
Participate in marketing decision making based on upcoming program needs
Recruitment of instructors
Screening of training participant candidates for appropriate funding source
Direct supervision of WFD instructors and trainers
Development and deployment of the noncredit course schedule in collaboration with Associate Dean of Workforce Development.
Support the Associate Dean of WFD in creating regular communications with students, instructors, program alumni, employers and community volunteers through marketing materials, e-mail communications, and information sessions.
Represent GCC at a variety of community events - career fairs, professional organization meetings, community partner gatherings, secondary and postsecondary events and other initiatives in which adult students or potential service providers/partners are likely to participate.
Create clear and visually compelling course outlines for the Train@GCC website
Use CRM to track employer engagement, student outcomes and employment (for grant reporting purposes), and other data points as required
Track program financial expenditures for grant reporting purposes
Bachelor's degree or substantial work experience in Workforce Development.
Prior supervisory experience.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, adhere to deadlines and work in an environment with regular interruptions.
Ability to work with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Understanding of the barriers faced by low income and diverse populations.
Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
Ability to exercise discretion and interpret privacy regulations governed by FERPA.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with workforce training participants, instructors and administrators.
Ability to use technology to track and analyze data, produce reports, and design presentations.
Knowledge of regional workforce development system
Demonstrated experience in managing outcomes-based programs.

RANK AND SALARY: $60,000-$70,000
START DATE: February 2023 or ASAP thereafter
