Lawrence General Hospital Clinical Nurse Educator Med/Surg and Telemetry in Lawrence, Massachusetts
We are seeking an engaging, innovative advanced practice educator to join a progressive nursing leadership team.
The Clinical Nurse Educator, as an integral member of both our Inpatient Services and Professional Development teams, is a clinical expert responsible for the professional development of clinical staff and patient outcomes of our medical surgical/telemetry patients. The Clinical Nurse Educator provides leadership, education, interdisciplinary collaboration, program development, and consultation to promote clinical excellence and quality outcome measures.
The qualified candidate must:
Possess theoretical knowledge of adult education, clinical nursing and leadership skills
Independently plan, develop, present, and evaluate educational programs, as well as collaboratively with the Professional Development team
Assess competency of staff and support clinical practice with planned and just-in-time evidence-based education
Participate in the planning and delivery of the clinical orientation of newly hired staff
Collaborate with nursing leadership and members of the healthcare team when resolving clinical practice issues
Monitor quality measures and implement improvement strategies
Function in a highly technical environment (EMR, Tele Stroke, other technologically driven equipment)
Support and facilitate mandatory certification/competency programs, such as RQI and mock simulations
This position is part of a 2-person Med/Surg Tele education team. The Clinical Nurse Educator/Professional Development Specialist reports to the Director of Professional Development and is accountable to the Director of Inpatient Services.
Education & Related Experience Required:
Current MA nursing license
MSN in Nursing Education, or BSN currently enrolled in MSN program meeting all other criteria
BLS, ACLS preferred
5+ years of acute care and telemetry experience
Experience as clinical educator preferred
