The teacher is responsible for the overall programming of the classroom, working cooperatively with the classroom teacher with planning and implementing curriculum according to the Center?s practices, philosophy and mission. Plan and implement curriculum that aligns with the State standards, Guidelines and/or Learning Experiences appropriate for the age group as well as the Center?s practices, philosophy and mission. DUTIES: Arrange and maintain a safe, clearly defined classroom environment which is developmentally appropriate and conducive to learning Plan, coordinate and facilitate daily activities, assisting children in classroom leaning activities, in small/large groups and on an individual basis Lead the team in reviewing children?s experience and planning the educational experience within the classroom Create and maintain a positive learning environment that promotes educational experiences across all developmental domains and adheres to and meets EEC Licensing regulations, QRIS and NAEYC Criterion. Maintain and upkeep accurate assessment data and child portfolios in accordance to state mandated guidelines and Center protocols and procedures. Maintain effective communication within teaching team, with Supervisors/Center Administration and Parents (daily conversations, notes, notices, newsletter etc.). Facilitates the development of self-control in children by using consistent, positive guidance techniques such as modeling, listening, reinforcement and redirection. Maintain accurate records including attendance, meal delivery forms etc. Ensure the health and safety of children with age-appropriate supervision occurring at all time. Must follow all the Center?s policies & procedures at all time along with nutrition guidelines and meal service. Other duties as assigned or determined by the program needs. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 years of age with a of a minimum of an BA Degree or higher in ECE, EEC Teacher Credential appropriate to the age of children being served and a willingness to pursue higher education or working towards BA Degree in ECE/Advanced Degree in Early Childhood Education plus meet the current EEC and NAEYC and QRIS requirements for position. Engage in ongoing staff development to improve professional skills. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, be a positive and professional role model who is patient, reliable and dependable. Must be able to participate in classroom housekeeping duties in all areas, able to use bleach/cleaning solutions for sanitization purposes, be capable of hearing and seeing the children to monitor their health and safety. Must be able to comprehend/communicate in English both verbally and in writing, and have basic computer literacy skills. Attendance at relevant trainings, meetings, Open House/Family Nights and special events required. Engage in ongoing staff development to improve professional skills. Must show documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test, proof of MMR immunity and valid First Aid & CPR certification. (Hepatitis B Immunity is advisable.) Must have a suitable CORI, SORI & DCF background check on file prior to employment. Must have a suitable fingerprint check completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
