Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Toddler Program Coordinator in Lawrence, Massachusetts

The Toddler Program Coordinator assists the Center Director in the operation of the Child Care, with focus and expertise on classrooms serving toddlers. In addition, she oversees center operations in the director’s absence, in partnership with the Case Manager Supervisor.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the Toddler Program, including supervision of toddler teachers.

  • Ensure inclusion of all children, regardless of needs, different learning styles, and differences.

  • Support toddler teachers in their roles of educating, including, and nurturing all children.

  • Provide guidance in the following areas; curriculum planning, individualization through observation of daily activities and discussions with toddler teaching teams.

  • Facilitate the development of children’s self- regulatory behaviors through guiding teachers in consistent, positive classroom management techniques.

  • Participate in team meetings as part of a case management approach.

  • Communicate with families regarding children’s development and support referrals to outside agencies when needed.

  • Assist with adherence to Program Policies and other DEEC regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure classrooms are adequately equipped with developmentally appropriate materials and that curriculum activities meet the needs and interests of the children.

  • Assure timely and proper individualization for all children in the toddler program.

  • Monitor teaching team activities and provide direction and coach/mentoring support where needed.

  • Support parent engagement activities and offer parent trainings.

  • Assist with the coordination of transition activities for children and families entering/leaving the toddler program.

  • Other duties as assigned based on the program’s needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in ECE or related field with strong understanding of toddler development/ability to support teachers and families in the area of typical and atypical development/coaching and supervisory experience.

  • CPR and First Aid certificate preferred or ability to maintain CPR/ FA within 30 days of hire.

  • Show documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test and proof of MMR immunity. (Hepatitis B immunity is advisable).

  • Must have a suitable CORI, SORI & DCF background check and fingerprinting on file prior to employment.
