Eliot Community Human Services Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Lexington, Massachusetts


Eliot, one of Massachusetts's largest non-profit social service organizations, is currently searching for a dynamic and talented individual for the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Eliot is implementing their DEI strategic plan and looking for a solid leader to take the helm.

Using a person-centered, family-driven approach, Eliot believes strongly in partnering with the communities served. Eliot programs collaborate, utilizing the expertise within the agency to provide the highest standard of quality services to clients and their families.


  • Support and advance the diversity mission statement across the organization with the intended purpose of cultivating and maintaining a supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees.

  • Support strategic and programmatic DEI initiatives, while providing updates to staff, leadership and Board of Directors on DEI goals, metrics and benchmarks

  • Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of Eliot’s DEI strategic plan, goals and initiatives that promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the Eliot’s workforce.

  • Oversee, coordinate and chair the DEI Council under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources.

  • Oversee and ensure regular communication to all Eliot staff regarding DEI activities and information.

  • Review current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or hinder the company's diversity goals

  • Work with program and Division Leadership and staff to ensure priorities are aligned with racial justice issues identified by the community.

  • Collect and analyze statistical data on an ongoing basis to evaluate the company's population in accordance with diversity standards and goals.


  • Requires a BA/BS with at least five years of Human Resources or related experience

  • At least three years specializing in recruitment, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity programs.

  • Strong employee relations skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in outreach initiatives and/or diversity recruitment and training efforts, including attracting and maintaining a diverse workforce.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective partnerships and to work collaboratively and effectively among departments and in the community.

Schedule: Monday - Friday
