Wellforce Nurse Educator in Lowell, Massachusetts

Position Summary: Nurse Educator- Surgical Services

This Nurse Educator position will oversee the educational needs of all Surgical Services clinical staff, including the Operating Room, Surgical Daycare, PACU, Endo and IR nurses, on all 3 campuses (Main, Saints, Drum Hill). The essential responsibilities of this position would be to develop and assist in the orientation, continuing education, and professional development of all clinical staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of clinical staff.

  • Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.

  • Serves as a consultant/mentor for clinical staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development (CAP).

  • Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new clinical staff orientation and education activities.

  • Active member of the Nursing Council structure, i.e. Professional Development and Evidence Based practice

  • Attends weekly Education meetings and assist in global projects, such as preceptor class, leadership class and new initiatives.

  • Candidate will possess effective communication skills to develop positive working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • BSN required, MSN preferred

  • Recent clinical experience in surgical services

  • ACLS certified

  • BCLS instructor

  • Recent experience in hospital education and training, preferred
