Massachusetts Employer Youth Career Coaching Advisor in Lynn, Massachusetts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. In general, work with local business organizations to publicize youth activities and increase the understanding, participation, and commitment to youth programs. 2. Work with schools, community- based organizations, and vendor/partner programs to support students in career development. Build and maintain relationships with the community partners and schools, and work with staff to identify appropriate youth for programs. 3. Provide initial assessment which identifies youth?s immediate needs related to education, support services, employment, and career path plans. Facilitate and/or coordinate assessments, collect and process documentation for the purpose of eligibility determination. 4. Work with youth providers/worksites to ensure smooth flow of complete, accurate and timely reporting from eligibility, enrollment, monthly/quarterly case management and follow-up. 5. Responsible for coordination and administration of youth applications and maintaining records in an orderly fashion. 6. Provide timely data tracking for participating youth and organizations to ensure that the information is entered in multiple data base applications allowing the program to meet all program reporting requirements. 7. Schedule and facilitate Career Awareness, Exploration and Immersion workshops on-site at programs and/or at the Youth Career Center to ensure that youth are prepared to participate in work-based learning opportunities, advanced training and/or post-secondary education. 8. In conjunction with the Business Services Unit, support the employer outreach work of local partners, including supporting employers already working with schools and students, recruiting new employers, aiding in reaching small businesses, and building relationships among companies, schools and agencies that benefit student learning. 9. Ability to review sources of current labor market data and occupational work processes requirements. Interpret and translate to job seekers the specific needs which are businesses seek for knowledge, skills and abilities and their industries. 10. Connect interested businesses to youth for the purposes of preparing and placing these students in work-based learning opportunities. Work in coordination with school-based personnel to help expand and promote work-based learning services for all students, providing encouragement and motivation to stay in school, attain graduation competencies, and move into successful careers. 11. Provide technical assistance to businesses in their efforts to make work-based learning fit within their company culture, helping them design participation opportunities for students and teachers that relate to subject matter and at the same time supports the company?s mission and daily objectives. 12. Work with business and schools to develop projects that build trust and communication, and that may lead to work-based learning opportunities, such as career fairs, job shadows, career speakers, externships and other related activities. 13. Work with other elements of the workforce development system to ensure that youth program coordinates well with other Career Center Youth programs and initiatives 14. Periodically participate in committees and groups working on related projects in communities requiring assistance from the Youth Career Center 15. Assist with the creating and/or updating marketing content such as promoting jobs, events and Youth Career Center news for Social Media campaigns. 16. Periodically participate in committees and groups working on specific ?in school? related projects in communities requiring assistance from the Career Center staff. Education and/or Experience: Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred. At least 1 to 2 years employment experience in Youth Programs, Education, Customer Service, Human Resources, Sales/Marketing, Training, or related field Additional details available
