Cardinal Health Sr. Specialist, Instructional Design & Development in Mansfield, Massachusetts

What Instructional Design & Development contributes to Cardinal Health

Instructional Design & Development is responsible for creating and implementing blended learning solutions.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts, instructional design theory, and measurement and evaluation methods.
  • Uses instructional design methodology to develop blended learning solutions.
  • Uses e-learning authoring software programs to develop and deliver interactive training experiences.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions while partnering with members of the Learning Technologies Team to add, administer and maintain training in the learning management system.
  • Uses video/audio equipment and software to create high quality video training.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.
  • Develops learning assets for functional training
  • Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects, and feedback on work.
  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Convert ideas, experiences, and knowledge from subject matter experts or publications into engaging and interactive learning assets for both online and classroom learning experiences.
  • Develop and produce self-directed e-modules, webinars and simulations, videos for learning, digital game-based learning, and performance support tools.
  • Develop content that uses a combination of forms such as text, audio, images, animations, video and interactive content.
  • Adapt materials created for one format to another, such as converting a classroom-based course to a digital delivery format.
  • Create materials such as participant workbooks, leader guides, storyboards, classroom activities and job aids.
  • Oversee re-production, production and post production activity in an onsite a/v studio.
  • Write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts.
  • Learn new technology quickly and stay abreast of current industry trends.
  • Demonstrate strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Work well with virtual teams and leader.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Proficiency using and maintaining a/v studio equipment, e.g, cameras, lighting kits, microphones, etc., preferred.
  • Proficiency in these areas: instructional materials development, multimedia development, instructional technology, and project management.
  • Experience developing learning using the traditional ADDIE model and the more contemporary Rapid Prototype models.
  • Experience in leveraging the capabilities of learning delivery platforms, e.g., Adobe Connect, Cornerstone, ComplianceWire, Axonify, and others.
  • Development experience using the following tools: Articulate Storyline, basic HTML, Microsoft Office 365 Suite, TechSmith Camtasia Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, and others used for audio and video editing, as well as for creation of games and simulations.
  • Proven ability to meet the learning needs of broad, diverse audiences and varieties of learning styles.
