You will have hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced warehouse/operations environment, and will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly impact warehouse efficiency and performance. You will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals in the field of industrial engineering and operations.

Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

• Conduct detailed time studies and work measurements to analyze the efficiency of various warehouse operations and processes.

• Collaborate with warehouse and operations staff to gather accurate data on process cycle times, workflows, and resource utilization.

• Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas of waste within the warehouse operations.

• Assist in the development and implementation of lean initiatives aimed at streamlining processes, reducing waste, and improving overall efficiency.

• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key warehouse processes.

• Support the design and layout optimization of warehouse space to enhance productivity and safety.

• Participate in continuous improvement projects and contribute to the implementation of lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and others.

• Prepare and present reports, findings, and recommendations to the management team.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or project manager.

We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

• Able to work full-time over the summer months (May/June - August/Sept)

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship

• Majoring in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field preferred

• Rising Junior, Rising Senior

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Experience or exposure to working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Ability to work onsite at our Marlborough, MA campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided

The hourly pay range for this role is $19.00 - $28.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
