SUMMARY
Green Jobs Academy (GJA) was founded in 2010 and is New England’s largest regional training facility that provides complete career development training and certification courses for adult learners interested in Weatherization and Energy Efficiency as installers, managers and energy auditors. GJA specializes in hands-on instructional training that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter and advance in the residential weatherization. Our ample classroom and laboratory setting provide experience with the equipment, tools and training required for success.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver Green Jobs Academy’s (GJA) core training program courses in accordance with GJA’s policies and industry accreditations.
Conduct classroom lectures and hands-on demonstration workshops for all weatherization tasks.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and best practices.
Collaborate with Lead Trainer and other trainers to improve curriculum and training methods.
Assist with maintaining facilities classrooms, labs, training equipment and supplies.
Willingness to conduct remote training as directed.
Other duties as assigned including building and maintaining teaching props.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential weatherization or related field.
Proven track record as a trainer or educator in a technical field for adult learners.
Certified BPI Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of building science principles, energy efficiency measures and energy modeling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hands-on building or weatherization experience.
Ability to work with diverse groups of students and manage classroom environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
OSHA 10-hour certification
EPA RRP lead-safe certification
Experience with adult education or workforce development programs
Experience with DOE Weatherization, and HHS Heating Assistance programs.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Active Massachusetts Driver’s License and the ability to drive a 22 ft box truck.
Must be able to provide hands-on training for all weatherization courses.
Must be able to travel to local and regional area meetings via personal vehicle.
Must be able to sit, stand and do physical work for prolonged periods.
Must be able to operate a computer and complete extensive paperwork.
