Town of Mashpee Substitute Group Leader-Extended Day in Mashpee, Massachusetts

Acts as a leader in after-school elementary grades (grades K to 6) youth program. A group leader is required to develop program material and activities that are appropriate to the assigned age group. Ability to maintain both discipline and interaction with young children and youth highly desired. Assists in planning a daily program of developmental activities. Follows procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children. Development of activities on a daily basis. Works directly with individual children and in groups. Follows guidelines for the program in line with QRIS recommendations and Department of Early Education and Care regulations. Works collaboratively with Site Coordinator to evaluate and assess childrens development through progress reports and work portfolios throughout the school year. Addresses any deficiency, concern or issue with Site Coordinator who will then follow-up with the appropriate resource or referral. Participates in internal staff activities and in special training programs. Works under direct supervision of Site Coordinator for program location. Works extra hours in emergency situations. Performs similar or related work as required or as the situation dictates. Shall be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements: Have a Bachelors Degree or an Associates Degree; and have three months of experience working with school age children; or Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have six months experience working with school age children including three months supervised experience at a school age child care program; or Have nine months experience with school age children including three months supervised experience at a school age child care program.
