Wellforce Staff Development/Clinical Educator, Acute Psychiatric Units in Melrose, Massachusetts
The Nursing Professional Development/Clinical Educator embodies the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Nursing Department and Nursing Professional Development and provides for their implementation. In collaboration with the Center for Professional Development, the Nursing Professional Development Clinical Educator promotes excellence and innovation in nursing care, contributes to the growth and development of nursing staff through education activities, and facilitates the application of nursing theory to clinical practice consistent with all regulatory agencies, included but not limited to: Joint Commission, CMS, ANCC, MARN and other specialty organizations. Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Guidelines in all aspects of professional practice. Utilizes the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Professional Development as the foundation of practice. The Nursing Professional Development Clinical Educator works with the medical and nursing staff and other hospital departments in a collegial and collaborative relationship to ensure safe care to patients through compliance with unit policies, procedures and protocols. The Nursing Professional Development Clinical Educator counsels and coaches nurses when problems arise in clinical practice.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
+ + EDUCATION:
MSN required or BSN with MSN matriculation required. Individuals enrolled in a BSN to MSN program will be considered; MSN must be obtained within 1 year of hire. Registration and current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing required. BLS required. Professional certification preferred.
2-3 years Medical-surgical, critical care or specialty area experience required; teaching experience desirable. The successful candidate should have education and psych nursing background as well as regulatory and project rollout experience, i.e. quality improvement initiatives.
Ability to organize responsibilities, make decisions, advocate for new orientees' learning needs, set limits, demonstrate critical thinking and manage projects.
