Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital−Needham (BID−Needham) is a licensed 58-bed acute care community hospital. BID Needham has had a direct affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 2000, facilitating the clinical integration of staff and resources in emergency medicine, hospital medicine (hospitalists), cardiology, radiology, orthopedics, pathology, as well as many surgical services and oncology housed in the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion.
Job Summary: Teaches Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support courses as outlined by the American Heart Association (AHA) and in accordance with AHA and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham policies for courses offered at Beth Israel Deaconess-Needham.
Instructs healthcare professionals in ACLS standards and expectations as according to AHA algorithms. Instructs courses using the required materials, paperwork and maintaining equipment/students/instructor ratios.
Serves as an expert in ACLS skills.
Communicates any difficulties with equipment, students or other instructors directly to the Training Center Coordinator.
Evaluates and assesses classes for purpose of performance improvement of class content and instructor qualifications.
Keeps abreast of AHA standards, certification for instruction by the AHA and adult learning practices.
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
License Advanced Cardiac Life Support required., and Registration Basic Life Support required.
1-3 years related work experience required.

Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Problem Solving: Ability to address problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, knowledge and skills based on general precedents.
Independence of Action: Ability to set goals and determines how to accomplish defined results with some guidelines. Manager/Director provides broad guidance and overall direction.
Written Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.
Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.
Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.
Physical Nature of the Job:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.
