Summary: Assists 17 to 24 year old participants of the HEAL Center and the surrounding neighborhood in preparing for and obtaining their high school equivalency, assesses educational needs and strengths to provide an individualized educational plan, and facilitates teaching and learning activities that engage and educate participants both in-person and virtually. Duties and responsibilities: Develops culturally-responsive curriculum in Math, Science, History and English content areas Administers educational assessments to gauge participants? learning strengths and needs; develops instructional plan and practices driven by participants? needs Prepares participants for the HiSET examinations in all content areas utilizing innovative and interactive techniques, materials, and resources Utilizes strength-based, positive youth development and trauma-informed approaches that build confidence and positive attitudes towards educational achievement among participants Monitors and evaluates participant?s progress and intervenes as needed utilizing HEAL Center support systems Supervises and supports interns and tutors who will support the participants in obtaining educational progress; coordinates scheduling of one-on-one or group level assistance Participates in HEAL Center team meetings, trainings, and supervision regularly, as well as, partner or contractor meetings as needed Provides adequate quantitative and qualitative documentation and reports regarding educational outcomes, challenges, and participant progress Coordinates flexible learning schedule to accommodate participants? needs and availability Works collaboratively with partners to ensure a continuum of learning and minimize loss of learning through incarceration, displacement or critical incidents Integrates computer-aided instruction into lessons for virtual and in-class learning and incorporates online curriculum into teaching and learning strategies Establishes and maintains a positive rapport with participants and works closely with the Wraparound Care team to remain updated on their individual circumstances Performs other related duties as assigned.
