North Adams Public Schools Curriculum Designer and Implementation in North Adams, Massachusetts

Curriculum Designer and Implementation Consultant, ABE Program Location: Remote work This position is for the school year only. Will design core content for Adult Basic Education, ESOL and Family Literacy Components. Publish detailed maps. Assure content is standards-based and that the aligned core content curriculum maps reflect ESOL and Family Literacy and Adult Basic Education standards and best practices. Maps will be published electronically and a hard copy document will need to be available. Provide ongoing coaching to staff on the implementation of lessons and assessments. Hours per day: 8 Days per week: 5 Flexible schedule based on program timeline Hourly rate: $32 Anticipated start date: January, 2022. Requirements: Experience designing curriculum units Experience coaching teachers on implementation of units of instruction Understanding of best practices in education including the principles of adult learning, scaffolding of instruction, and formative/summative assessment Excellent interpersonal skills Physical Requirements: The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally. There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer, typewriter, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines. Environmental Conditions: The occupant is required to work indoors. The regular chemical solvents are toners, inks, and cleaning fluids.
